Overview
The National Railway Museum in the medieval city of York is said to be the largest railway museum in the world. The collection is kept in immaculate shape and includes the Rocket, one of the first steam railroad engines (this one is actually a working replica, the original is in the Science Museum in London), the Mallard, which set the steam-hauled speed record, and a collection of royal train coaches which were used to shuttle the British Royal Family around England, Wales, and Scotland.
