Happy World, Ik-Joong Kang (1998) The Korean-American artist Ik-Joong Kang is primarily known for mosaic-like installation works made up of 3 x 3-in. squares representing various aspects of his life. Happy World consists of hundreds of icons and symbols hand painted on small ceramic tiles. Born in Korea in 1960, Kang has lived and worked in New York City since 1984.
